Under the theme "Storytelling in the age of agents", the closing day convenes interdisciplinary teams to build the future of media narrative. The goal is to design and iterate functional AI prototypes that enhance storytelling, always safeguarding human editorial judgment.
The Hackathon is a space for pure experimentation. To ensure a level playing field, only projects built from scratch on October 31 will be evaluated. Pre-existing products or prototypes in a commercial stage will not be accepted.
The day is structured to foster accelerated innovation, transparency, and interdisciplinary collaboration across three key stages:
Companies, consolidated media outlets, and technology organizations participate as enablers and early adopters, backing talent without intruding on working tables or claiming intellectual property:
Provide infrastructure, APIs, access to language models, or sandbox environments. They assign engineers exclusively as open technical mentors for all teams.
Contribute real-world challenge cases from across the media and journalism ecosystem.
Award Proof of Concept (POC) grants or fellowships to test winning solutions directly inside their newsrooms.
Corporate representatives and fund scouts tour the space identifying technical talent and high-potential early-stage founders.
The intellectual property framework guarantees full protection for participants and stimulates open collaboration:
The intellectual property of all code, design, or architecture developed during the event belongs solely and exclusively to the team members who created it. Media Party, mentors, and sponsors gain zero ownership rights. Teams must be formalized and registered through hackdash.org.
Guidance from mentors, access to API credits, or technical feedback grants third parties neither co-authorship rights nor equity in the projects.
Every evaluated prototype (including vibecoding) must be built during the day. The use of open-source libraries, frameworks, and public APIs is permitted, strictly respecting their original licenses.
Teams are encouraged to release the core version of the prototype under open licenses (MIT, Apache 2.0, or Creative Commons), reserving the right to commercialize SaaS layers or enterprise integrations in the future.
We are looking for projects that explore agentic workflows while integrating financial sustainability right from the start:
Agentic automation of repetitive research, editing, verification, and distribution tasks.
Verification platforms, source traceability, and deepfake detection systems.
Open-source prototypes operating with managed service models or corporate enterprise support.
Novel direct sustainability mechanisms for independent and investigative media.
The international jury will be made up of key leaders from global organizations across the Media Party ecosystem, including:
Robustness of the agentic architecture and model integration.
New forms of interaction, personalization, and storytelling immersion.
Respect for information integrity, cognitive sovereignty, and human judgment.
Clarity of the sustainability model and adoption potential.
True to Media Party's legacy of turning prototypes into globally scaled initiatives, the Hackathon serves as the primary ecosystem pipeline. To propel standout ideas beyond the event, winning projects will receive continuous guidance and post-event mentorship, connecting directly with acceleration and investment opportunities:
Top prototypes developed on October 31 earn a direct acceleration pass to structure their business model.
Hackathon projects that evolve into incorporated startups will receive priority entry into the Media Party Investment Club—an exclusive platform organizing 1-on-1 business pitch meetings between pre-seed/seed startups and international venture funds.
