Three days of conferences, conversations and workshops to reboot journalism. This time from home and in the cloud! In Mediaparty.info between September 16 and 18, 2020 from 11am to 5pm hours, EAST time slot (-4 GMT).

For the NINTH consecutive year Media Party brings together specialists, entrepreneurs, journalists, software programmers and designers from five continents to work together for the future of the media.

This year the largest media innovation event in Latin America debuts an unprecedented virtual format with a global luxury line-up. Among the featured speakers will be Caspar Llewellyn Smith, Product Manager at The Guardian; Greg Barber, Head of Product for The Washington Post; Charo Henríquez, Development and Support Editor for The New York Times; Lisa Gibbs of the Associated Press artificial intelligence area, as well as featured speakers from the Facebook Journalism Project and the Google News Initiative; Jeff Jarvis from Buzzmachine and Jay Rosen, who directs the Membership Puzzle Project program, from New York University.

On the other hand, Media Party will feature global innovators and industry leaders such as Grzegorz Piechota, Researcher at the International News Media Association (INMA); Ranjan Roy, co-founder of The Edge Group, a company specializing in newsletters and content strategy for media, Tomas Bella of Remp, Douglas Arellanes of GetMural.io, Sereena Henderson of the fast-paced media startup The 19th, Heather Bryant of News Catalyst (the new project led by Aron Pilhofer) and Styli Charalambous of the South African newspaper Daily Maverick, who will be recounting their successful membership experience. In addition, local and regional industry leaders will be represented.

How will the conference work?

The conference is free but requires registration to access the links of the talks and workshops through the web mediaparty.info. If you already know the event, you cannot miss the virtual meeting and if you were never able to participate, it is your opportunity to access the brightest minds in global journalism from your sofa at home, in pajama.

To simplify the experience in times of virtual fatigue, the Media Party team designed an event with three types of experiences: keynotes (virtual talks), sofa hubs (meeting spaces) and workshops (productive workshops) with thematic verticals for each day of the event: audiences, product and monetization.

Audience. 9/16

Media is fighting for the attention business, but also for user loyalty. Media Party proposes a full day to learn the best practices to improve the digital audiences of global leaders with direct access to the sofa at home.

Product. 9/17

The rules of the Internet change all the time, the conception of content also evolves. Digital products have technical, user experience and performance challenges. Media Party invites you to join the conversation with the elite of digital products.

Monetization. 9/18

For the first time in the history of journalism, digital revenues are beginning to be greater than those generated by analog formats. Whether it’s programmatic advertising, direct selling, content marketing, or user-generated revenue strategies, the market is taking a leap. Media Party gives access to the “game changers” of the industry.

In addition, in the transitions and closings of each day there will be virtual networking meetings that will be announced through mediaparty.info.

This year, Media Party has the support of Facebook Journalism Project, Google News Initiative, Hacks/Hackers global and with the support of the Hacks/Hackers Buenos Aires community with more than 12,000 members.
