BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA — The 12th edition of Media Party 2024, the largest media innovation conference in Latin America, is coming to Buenos Aires. This is a global gathering for journalists, designers, entrepreneurs, and technology experts, sparking innovative dialogues with a real impact on the media ecosystem.

On this occasion, Media Party will feature Anna Vissens, Head of the Data Science team at The Guardian; Sam Guzik, in charge of the media chapter at the Future Today Institute (the organization directed by Amy Webb) and Product Leader at New York Public Radio; and Annemarie Dooling, Vice President of Audiences at USA Today and a leader in neuroscience research, who will be among the featured speakers alongside more than 200 sessions.

The event will take place from August 29 to 31, 2024. The first two days will be held at Ciudad Cultural Konex, and the third day—the hackathon day—will take place at AreaTres El Salvador.

Media Party is not your typical conference. Over three days, attendees immerse themselves in an exploration of pioneering practices in journalism, artificial intelligence, and media business innovation.

Media Party expects more than 2,000 participants, including attendees, speakers, trainers, developers, and entrepreneurs from all over the world. Beyond keynote speeches, the three-day conference emphasizes collaboration and innovation, with a focus on AI, neuroscience, and new business models.

This year, there will be some changes to the event structure.

The first day starts in the afternoon with keynote speeches from international speakers and a Media Fair showcasing innovative projects from around the world.

The second day will offer more opportunities to learn from global industry leaders through the increasingly popular lightning talks and highly anticipated workshops. At the same time, attendees will begin developing new ideas or improving current initiatives. The day concludes with lightning talks focused on innovative problem-solving strategies within the media landscape.

On the third day, attendees continue by participating in a hackathon, fostering active collaboration on projects that transform how societies stay informed.

Born as part of the global Hacks/Hackers network, Media Party has taken flight as the largest innovation event in Latin America and is now beginning to be replicated in the United States. It not only catalyzes innovation but also builds community. Evening gatherings, breakfasts, and lunches offer ample networking opportunities and foster long-lasting relationships.

This year, Media Party is supported by the Google News Initiative, the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), IFPIM, MDIF, Meedan, Internet Society, Telecom — Redacciones 5G, JournalismAI, News Product Alliance, Adepa, and AreaTres, among other organizations.

Registration is open and free, and will open on August 1st at MediaParty.org.
