- About Media Party
Buenos Aires, Argentina — September 17, 2025 — Media Party, the annual conference that brings together entrepreneurs, journalists, programmers, designers, technologists, academics, investors, and policy makers from around the world, announces its XIII edition to be held from October 2–4, 2025 at Ciudad Cultural Konex, Buenos Aires. Registration is now open at mediaparty.org.
With an estimated attendance of more than 2,000 people from 30 countries, this edition comes at a critical moment for the media industry, when the disruptive power of artificial intelligence transforms the information space in a year of intense global political and economic volatility.
Context and Relevance
Projections indicate that the vast majority of internet content will be synthetically produced by 2026, while Search Generative Experiences (SGE) and AI-powered chatbots radically transform access to information. This scenario unfolds in a year with more than 40 democracies facing critical elections and ongoing conflicts in Europe and the Middle East.
“Journalists and news organizations must urgently rethink their role,” state the event organizers, who position the concept of “Augmented Journalism” as the central axis of the 2025 agenda.

Hackathon: Truth Tech Initiative: Innovating in the Search for Truth
On October 4, 2025, the Media Party 2025 hackathon will take place at AreaTres, as part of our Truth Tech Initiative. This initiative is part of Media Party’s central mission: to strengthen trust in information ecosystems and create technologies that improve content credibility.
This activity requires specific registration.
How to Prepare for the Hackathon
Once attendance registration is completed, it’s time to focus on ideas and start working on them. To do this, the following steps are necessary:
Kick off: On Friday, October 3, mentoring sessions will be held for individuals and teams seeking expert advice to guide the projects they wish to develop during the hackathon. These mentorships will be personalized, last 15 minutes, and will require:
a) Prior registration at the Orientation booth to reserve the appointment.
b) Upload the hackathon project proposal on hackdash.
We recommend reading all available information on the website.
Not being a programmer is NOT a limitation
Sandboxes: The Four Experimental Spaces
In addition to the mentioned activities, there are four experimental Sandbox spaces — secure and controlled environments where it’s possible to experiment with new technologies, services, and business models without risk. They are co-creation laboratories that go beyond traditional networking and are accessed by application.
The application deadline is September 25.
The sandboxes focus on 4 areas:
Truth Tech: Technologies for “Reality” Verification
Objective
Promote innovative technologies and solutions to guarantee the credibility, transparency, and resilience of information. Applications of ethical AI, blockchain, cybersecurity, and behavioral sciences will be explored to strengthen journalism and verification.
EdTech for Future Communicators
Objective
This experimental laboratory addresses the radical transformation the communication ecosystem is undergoing. Data abundance, audience fragmentation, the emergence of artificial intelligence, and the crisis of sustainability models pose unprecedented challenges for training new talents.
Internet Pulse: Making Network Health Visible
Objective
The Internet Society Pulse Sandbox is a collaborative space, driven by Internet Society, to experiment with Pulse open data and understand what it tells us about the present and future of the Internet.
In two sessions of two hours each, participants will work in mixed groups to identify key challenges (e.g., unequal access, provider concentration, environmental impact) and prototype narratives or solutions that transform that data into actionable knowledge. The goal: convert information into collective power to strengthen a more open, safer, and resilient Internet.
Ad Tech: Brands, Media, Monetization and Magic
Objective
Co-create solutions for media monetization and brand storytelling in a context of uncertainty. Creative opportunities powered by AI will be explored to generate value and engagement.
