Media Party

Alejandro Valdez Sanabria, from El Surti, presents the AIKUAA project at Media Party 2025. This initiative seeks to bridge the digital divide for Guaraní speakers. It integrates this mostly oral language into artificial intelligence tools. The proposal empowers bilingual communities in Paraguay, Argentina, and Bolivia.

La methodology utilizes community “mingas” to gather voices in the territory. This collective effort feeds Mozilla’s public Common Voice datasets. Thanks to this work, language recognition improved by ten percent. They developed a WhatsApp chatbot that allows sending audio clips for training. This practical tool makes it easier for AI to learn from its real speakers.

The philosophy of AIKUAA consists of putting technology at the service of the people. It seeks to democratize access to artificial intelligence throughout the region. Valdez highlights that the goal is to ensure equal digital opportunities. This human approach transforms AI into an engine of inclusion and dignity. Community participation is key to creating representative technology.
