Truth Tech Initiative: Innovating in the search for truth
On October 4th, 2025, the Media Party 2025 hackathon will take place at Area3, as part of our Truth Tech Initiative. This initiative aligns with Media Party's central mission: strengthening trust in information ecosystems and creating technologies that improve content credibility.
October 4th
Truth Tech Initiative
The Truth Tech Initiative stems from the recognition that "truth will be as scarce as drinking water in the future." Our goal is to promote technologies that restore public trust and protect against manipulative influence, integrating knowledge from disciplines such as content creation, AI ethics, behavioral sciences, cybersecurity, neuroscience, and computer vision.
What is a hackathon?
Although the term sounds technological, a hackathon is simply an innovation event where different people come together to create and design solutions to current societal problems. The concept emerged in 1999 as a fusion of the words "hacking" and "marathon," defining an event where solutions to complex problems are created in a short period of time.
Why are hackathons important?
Multiple solutions to one problem: Different perspectives generate diverse approaches
Talent enhancement: Collaborative and creative skills are developed
Genuine networking: Valuable professional connections are created
Tangible results
This year: data sources and AI allies to democratize innovation
1. Reliable data sources
We have organizations that have been collecting, verifying, and curating data for years:
The World Bank
Will support us with the world's most reliable social and economic data by country. The World Bank works on fundamental open government and open data initiatives.
AVINA
Joins as a partner to the hackathon to provide information and data on territorial development maps of Argentina.
Internet Society (Pulse)
We will have data from Internet Society, the most reliable source for global network usage data. Internet Society is a foundation dedicated to building an open, secure, and inclusive Internet.
FUNDAR
An organization dedicated to the study, research, and design of public policies focused on developing a sustainable and inclusive Argentina. They will contribute their data.
Strategic Partner
LAIA Open Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence
We are very happy to have LAIA at this Media Party 2025. This is an organization that aims to contribute to creating a more equitable and accessible AI environment that benefits all of society.
During the hackathon, LAIA leaders will be available to participate in co-creating projects relevant to the "Truth Tech Initiative."
2. Not being a programmer is NOT a limitation
This year we have strategic partners that ensure anyone can participate and create innovative solutions:
Lovable - Vibecoding for everyone
One of the leading vibecoding companies is joining the effort to enable all participants to create applications without writing a single line of code. All you need to do is provide prompts to an artificial intelligence that will work alongside you. Vibecoding at the service of journalism.
TwelveLabs - AI for video analysis
This company specializing in AI video analysis lets you "chat" with your videos. Remember when you had to watch an entire video to pick out the best parts?
Now you just type "Give me all the video clips that talk about inflation," and the program will cut out the four relevant one-minute segments from a one-hour video.
How to prepare for the Hackathon
Kick-off: On Friday October 3, there will be mentoring sessions for individuals and teams seeking expert guidance to shape the projects they plan to develop during the hackathon. These mentoring sessions will be personalized, last 15 minutes, and will require:
