At its core, Media Party’s DNA has always been driven by the urgency to hack the present to build the future of journalism. Today, in an ecosystem shaped by data overload and the rise of artificial intelligence, this mission takes on a new level of relevance.
In partnership with the World Bank, we are launching the Regional AI and Data Training Program, an initiative designed for journalists and creators from Argentina, Bolivia, Mexico, and Ecuador to transform complex data into high-impact visual stories.
Have questions about how to participate? Here, we answer all of them.
What exactly is the Regional AI and Data Training Program?
It is a hybrid training program that combines theory, practice, funding, and editorial mentorship. The goal is to equip professionals across the region with advanced tools to work with development data—such as economics, sustainability, and inclusion—using artificial intelligence and cutting-edge visualization.
Who is this call for?
We are looking for profiles working at the intersection of news and technology:
- Journalists and editors from digital or print media.
- Designers and data specialists within news teams.
The program is exclusively open to professionals residing in Argentina, Bolivia, Mexico, and Ecuador.
What are the stages of the program?
The journey is structured into four key phases to ensure that projects reach their full potential:
- Training (April 2026): Three intensive workshops featuring international experts.
- Microgrants (May 2026): Direct financial support to carry out the investigations.
- Incubation (May–June 2026): Personalized mentorship to polish storytelling and the use of AI.
- Presentation (October 2026): Featured projects will be presented on stage at Media Party Buenos Aires.
What will I learn in the workshops?
- AI Analysis and Data360: How to use the World Bank platform to extract stories from technical data.
- Advanced Visualization: Professional use of tools like Datawrapper and Flourish to create engaging visuals.
- Digital Product Design: A Design Thinking session to prototype innovative narratives.
Who will lead the training and mentorship sessions?
We have a team of experts who will guide every stage of the process:
Florencia Coelho
New Media Research and Training Manager at La Nación. She spent 10 months (2018-2019) at Stanford University exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence and journalism through a JSK Fellowship.

Divyanshi Wadhwa

Ana Lucía Rivas
Data Visualization and Information Design Specialist, currently collaborating with the World Bank on its digital communication strategy.
Silvina Heguy
Journalist, editor, and strategist with a distinguished career. She worked for 24 years at Diario Clarín and is currently a professor of investigative journalism at Di Tella University.
Alejandra Dandan
Investigative journalist and former Politics Editor at Página12. She specializes in editorial and audiovisual content curation, as well as AI training for media outlets.
What is the key requirement to apply?
Beyond talent and a strong idea, the program aims for real impact. Therefore, it is a mandatory requirement to submit a letter of intent or a publishing commitment signed by an editor-in-chief from an established media outlet. We want these stories to see the light of day and move the needle of public discourse.
How can I apply?
Applications are now open. If you have a project in mind and the backing of a media outlet, you can apply through the official form on our website.
Are you ready to lead the transformation?
Spots are limited, and the impact is regional. Don’t miss out on the conversation that is shaping the future of media in Latin America.
