What skills must the communicators of the future acquire?
In a hyper-connected and constantly changing world—both natural and artificial—we interact and discover our environment through interfaces and technologies that allow us to understand and transform what we know almost immediately.
What skills and attitudes must the communicators of the future develop and strengthen? What can educational institutions contribute to a field in constant transformation? What can be the contribution of spaces like Media Party?
We invite you to join this exchange among academics, innovators, and the Media Party team to explore new horizons and perspectives on the training of future communicators. The panel will be moderated by new learning technologies specialist Verónica Chehtman and researcher and technologist Martín Parselis.

What is Media Party University?
The goal of Media Party University is to generate a direct impact on the training of future journalists, developers, and designers. We want to encourage students to explore, connect, and create in an environment of interdisciplinary collaboration.
During Media Party Buenos Aires 2023, we hosted “Vení a pensar la carrera de comunicación del futuro'”(Come think about the communication career of the future), an interdisciplinary design thinking session aimed at exploring the link between communication and technology in formal education, says Florencia Figar, communications coordinator for Media Party and product manager of Media Party University.
Following that experience, they began working with Natalí Schejtman from Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (UTDT) on a proposal to bring innovation acceleration practices to academia.
“For this first experience, which took place in late May, different majors and departments invited all of their design, technology, and social science students to participate in workshops and a hackathon,” Figar explains.
More than 300 people actively participated in two days of workshops and a hackathon, exploring new ways to integrate technology into the educational field.
“This is the first time I’ve participated in a hackathon, and honestly, it’s amazing because it’s a space where I can meet people from other disciplines and build projects together,” shares Jessica Ruetter, a Communication Sciences student, about her experience.
We actively seek to replicate this experience in academic spaces across Latin America to rethink the role of media and contribute to improving the quality of information in our societies.
On Friday the 30th at 6:30 PM, Florencia Figar will give a Lightning Talk sharing the complete Media Party University experience at the Gran Sala del Konex.
