Key Activities and Themes of Media Party 2025
Media Party is a three-day immersive experience that combines inspiration, hands-on training, networking, and collective creation. The agenda includes Keynotes with global leaders, Lightning Talks offering powerful ideas in an agile format, and Workshops focused on agile methodologies, product design, artificial intelligence, and more.
The Media Fair brings together media outlets, startups, and services innovating in the media ecosystem. In addition, the traditional Hackathon invites developers, journalists, designers, and entrepreneurs to co-create prototypes and new ideas, this year with a special focus on “augmented journalism with superpowers” and solutions in the Truth Tech vertical (verification technologies).
This edition of Media Party focuses on the major challenges and opportunities facing the media and content ecosystem in the era of artificial intelligence. We will address the concept of Augmented Journalism, exploring how AI tools can generate positive disruption in the production, distribution, and personalization of content.
Ethics in the development and use of artificial intelligence, the sustainability of emerging media, the strengthening of local news, and the defense of freedom of expression will also be key pillars. Other topics include the expansion of the creator economy, information integrity against disinformation, and structural challenges in the sector: from media concentration to job insecurity and the loss of public trust.
Media Party is also a “discovery” platform to get to know innovative startups and new emerging media from around the world, many of them in early stages but with disruptive proposals in production, distribution, and monetization. As in previous years, there will be talks and workshops from organizations like the Google News Initiative on the use of new tools for journalists.
Also, an Executive Meeting for CEOs and Industry Leaders with Aspen Digital and Siegel Family Endowment
Additionally, this year, Media Party will co-host the meeting “AI & News: Charting the Course” alongside Aspen Digital and Siegel Family Endowment, taking place on October 1st as a pre-conference day. It will be an exclusive, invitation-only space for executives and CEOs of Latin American news organizations to lead the conversation on the impact of artificial intelligence on the media ecosystem, identify common challenges, and explore regional collaboration opportunities.
Hybrid Workshops En Route to Media Party with the World Bank
Leading up to the October event, Media Party and the World Bank are launching “Data, Visualizations, and Artificial Intelligence for Storytelling,” a hybrid training program for journalists in Argentina focused on development data, visualizations, and artificial intelligence. The program includes virtual workshops, micro-grants for innovative journalistic projects, and culminates with the presentation of featured stories at Media Party Buenos Aires 2025. Workshops begin on June 18th. Apply here.
Proven Impact on Participants
Media Party has established itself as one of the most influential events at the intersection of media, technology, and innovation since 2012. “Among industry conferences, Media Party is one of my favorites. It’s a unique group of people questioning issues that only arise at the intersection of media and technology,” noted Trei Brundrett, co-founder of Vox Media and event speaker.
In 2024, 95% of participants at Media Party Buenos Aires, New York, and University events rated the experience as “very positive,” particularly highlighting the adoption of new technologies, inspiration for innovation, the strengthening of applied skills, and the creation of international collaboration networks. Furthermore, 96% expressed their intention to apply what they learned to their projects or media outlets, demonstrating the direct and transformative effect that Media Party generates on ecosystem stakeholders.
