The 13th Media Party Buenos Aires is Here: Journalism with Superpowers

Media Party

After months of preparation, registration for our 2025 edition is now open, and we can’t wait to meet again at what promises to be the most transformative Media Party yet.

Media Party is Latin America’s leading event dedicated to promoting media innovation through the application and creation of digital tools, and fostering a global community that generates solutions for a sustainable and trustworthy information ecosystem with journalistic standards. Our vision is to consolidate Media Party as a global think tank and contribute to a future where independent journalism and active citizenship remain fundamental pillars of democracy.

This year, more than 2,000 attendees from 30 different countries will gather in Buenos Aires. It will be a unique opportunity to connect with colleagues, discover new projects, innovate, and, above all, understand where the future of journalism is headed in the era of artificial intelligence.

A Pivot Year for Journalism

The year 2025 is a key moment for our industry. AI is not only transforming the tools we use and the results we achieve, but also the very nature of truth, authorship, ethics, and content generation based on journalistic standards in a democratic society.

That is why this year we have decided that the central theme of Media Party will be “Journalism with Superpowers.” We want to explore how teams can use technologies and processes leveraged by artificial intelligence to find sustainability and market value, without losing sight of the fundamental pillars of our craft.

Three Days to Redefine the Future

From October 2 to 4 at Ciudad Cultural Konex, we will dive into how artificial intelligence is transforming the media ecosystem. Topics will range from augmented journalism to ethics in AI development, digital media sustainability, and defending freedom of expression in this new technological era.

Experts Leading the Way

Our speakers are professionals designing and implementing products, tools, and methodologies with global impact. They are voices shaping the present and future of the industry:

  • Jane Barrett, AI Strategy Director at Reuters, leads artificial intelligence initiatives while maintaining ethical standards, and has overseen the development of new business ventures such as fact-checking. With her experience in the responsible transformation of journalism, she brings practical perspectives on journalistic innovation and the future of digital media.
  • Vivian Schiller, VP and Executive Director at The Aspen Institute, is one of the most knowledgeable experts at the intersection of journalism, media, and technology. Her perspective on media evolution will be key to understanding the challenges we face.
  • Sasa Vucinic, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at North Base Media, a boutique investment firm specialized in journalism-related media and technology companies, with a focus on emerging markets. His experience will help us understand investment and growth opportunities in our sector.
  • Shazna Nessa brings over 20 years of experience leading creative teams at global media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, Associated Press, and Condé Nast, with work that has contributed to Pulitzer Prize wins and finalist selections. She is currently a Media Innovation Resident at Columbia University’s Brown Institute and a consultant for the Gates Foundation.
  • Edward Tian, CEO of GPTZero, the world’s leading platform for identifying AI-generated text. His mission to restore information quality and transparency on the internet is more relevant than ever, enabling millions of users to verify the origin and reliability of content.

How to Participate

Best of all: the event is completely free, and you can secure your spot right now.

Conferences (October 2 and 3)

These days will take place at Ciudad Cultural Konex (Sarmiento 3131, Autonomous City of Buenos Aires) and will feature keynote speeches, workshops, lightning talks, and Media Feria—a showcase for startups and media solutions. This year, we are also adding a series of working groups called Sandboxes, which are accessible by invitation or application.

What are Media Party Sandboxes?

Media Party Sandboxes are intensive exploration spaces designed to bring together professionals with shared interests and foster collaboration on issues critical to the future of communication. Going beyond standard networking, these sandboxes function as co-creation labs where participants explore new perspectives, share experiences, and devise innovative solutions.

This year we will have 4 Sandboxes: Truth Tech, Ed Tech (Technology and Education), Ad Tech (Advertising Technology), and Internet Pulse (highlighting the health of the web).

Hackathon (October 4)

For those who want to raise the stakes and build new solutions and media products, registration is open for the Hackathon at AreaTres (El Salvador 5218). It’s a unique opportunity to bring ideas to life and collaborate with other innovators in the ecosystem.

Don't Miss Out

As always, spots are limited, and we know they will fill up quickly. If you’ve already decided to attend (and we hope you have!), don’t leave it for later. Past experience shows that early registrants secure the best spots and can better plan their participation.

This year, more than ever, Media Party will be the place where the journalism of the future takes shape. It is where difficult questions find innovative answers and where the Latin American media community meets to write the next chapter of our story.

See you at the Konex! Registration is now open and completely free. Secure your spot for what will be the most important Media Party yet.
